- Summary
- Family and personal business news. Business continues dull and the price of all articles has fallen. It is difficult to foresee the result of the election as each party claims a large majority. Believes there will be a considerable one against Tompkins as his nomination has united the Federalists against him; if Clinton has any tolerable proportion of the Democrats with him he will succeed. Is sorry to hear of John Lyon's situation and hopes he may recover to atone for past errors and enjoy the consolations of religion.
