United States--History--Revolution, 1775-1783; Jay, John, 1745-1829
Summary
Asks that Peter write to Mrs. Gouverneur Morris, who has offered to omit
any designated letters from John Jay to her late husband in the intended publication of
Morris's correspondence. He can recall none which merit public attention, nor any which
he regrets having written. A copy of the above should be sent to James Hamilton, who
transmitted Mrs. Morris's request, to avoid misapprehensions. Family
news.
