- Has told Judge Benson that John Jay and others wish him to accept an annuity. Benson has accepted with gratitude, but wishes first to ascertain exactly what he owns and possesses in order to obtain a final settlement with his creditors. He and his brother have taken lodgings on Long Island. William Watkins has become further in Peter's debt by a note for $300; however he has since paid back all but $80 of it. Asks for the original lease for two lots belonging to Trinity Church as a renewal is desired.
