- Summary
- Mrs. Garrett Van Horne has died and her husband is not expected to survive her long. Mr. Clinton has won the election; the results are still uncertain on the candidates for Congress and the Assembly. The English Members of Parliament whom John Jay has heard of are in town but leave for the south soon. Recently spent the night at Jones' farm in Queens County and was surprised at the dreary aspect of the country. Jones produces excellent crops by using manure every time he lays down a field, at the cost of $45 an acre.
