Summary:
Sarah Livingston JayÆs father (William Livingston) teased her that her husband was lazy in writing, before producing John JayÆs last letter. Modesty is inseparable from real virtue and is very apparent in his letter. Expresses anxiety for him. Kitty (Catherine Livingston) very pleased with John JayÆs invitation to visit and his fatherÆs agreement to the plan. Discusses baggage transportation and accommodations. Her spirits were low, otherwise she would not have left their son Peter. She rode to Elizabeth and will go back with Kitty to Parsippany to wait for the ColonelÆs arrival. Hopes that their correspondence does not eat into his sleeping time, as she fears for his health.
