Summary:
Gives account of her journey so far. First, traveled to Rye and saw the blind children, Peter and Ann Jay. Feared her own reaction but calmed by their cheerfulness. Was more upset seeing their mother, who was very ill but much moved at seeing Sarah Livingston Jay. Will spend a week with them on her return trip while John Jay has business in Westchester. Saw the Robinson cousins, who would love to see her (Susannah Livingston) and sister Betsey and the family. Plans to stay with Judge LivingstonÆs family for a week. Apologizes for not writing well; impossible as there is a group of country men in the room talking politics.
