- She is indignant that her letters to Mrs. Jay are intercepted-even though they go with the Congressional dispatches. They miss the Jays very much, and sympathize with them on the loss of their infant daughter. Mrs. Jay should take comfort in the health and good spirits of her son, Peter Augustus, who will write to her on his birthday with his aunt guiding his hand.
