- Summary
- Is glad traveling has improved John Jay's health. Has heard from Polly that Jay's Marlborough cattle have been safely delivered to Rye. Received a shipment from Mr. Johnson in London; Peter paid customs and when a porter is ready, they will deliver it from the ship. The inoculation for smallpox has been ineffective for their daughter; the doctor tried a fourth time and believes the infection has 'taken' this time, although she doubts it. William is very lively and talks of nothing but John Jay.
