- Was glad for her husband's friendly admonitions and advice in his last letters; she is in need of advice in her circumstances. Wishes the war to end and to be reunited with her family and her husband. Kitty (Catherine Livingston) and Jack (John Lawrence) Livingston are at General Knox's quarters, where he has prepared fireworks and balls. Hopes Kitty will see Brockholst Livingston. Little Peter daily growing more affectionate and asks about his father. Teaches him spelling and tells him stories to occupy his time. Susan and Judith (Livingston) are at Elizabeth. Might have to allow Judith to marry Mr. Watkins but he will probably wait until the fall.
