- Summary
- [She is not a little annoyed at his failure to write!] While she is happy he has been elected President of Congress, she hopes that it will not last more than three months when his term as delegate will expire. While she does not wish to influence his decision, she hopes her "widowhood" will soon cease. But if Sally had known John Jay intended to devote himself so wholly to his country, she may not have been "Roman matron envoy to have given you so entirely to the public."
