- Assesses European situation--danger in the East. Threats from Turkey and Russia. France is making great strides, but there is danger. Thinks a National Assembly must be called. Pleased with progress of the Constitution. A noble document. Hopes that more can be done in cementing Franco-American relations. This letter will be delivered by M. de Warville, French abolitionist who is journeying to U.S. to study slavery in North America.
