Summary
Congratulations on birth of Jay's son Peter. Resignation to fact of Montgomery's death. Congratulates Jay on election to Provincial Assembly. Suggests that a committee should be appointed to superintend the Canadian expedition, he will be glad to serve, thereby rendering himself of some use while he is detained at Clermont on family business. Is disappointed Jay did not write him concerning rumor that he [Livingston] gave Tryon information concerning the proceedings in Congress. Asks Jay to draw on Congress for $648 for Livingston's attendance in Congress 162 days.
