Mr. Wharton conjectures that Laurens' mission to France is for his father's exchange, while Colonel Moyland thinks he's been sent to negotiate a loan. It is reported that Arnold left New York with 15,000 men on a secret expedition. No great changes have taken place among Jay's acquaintances. Mr. Bingham has married Miss Willing.
