- As Congress has not yet met Morris cannot send the resolution about Dr. Morgan. Morris has put up security for Mr. Holt who says he has been hired to print for the state; Morris would like Jay's verification of Holt's honesty. Large powder house in Pennsylvania blown up by "evil minded persons." Morris' son Jacob delayed in joining his regiment by General Lee's request for an aide de campe. Son Lewis has refused a majority in a regiment, choosing instead to remain with Sullivan.
