- Summary
- Has sent money with Captain Tinker, and asks that Jay procure him a pair of good bay colored horses, for use with his carriage. Asks what is true of the rumors circulating on the cession of the Florid as to France. Assures Jay that the Western states have far richer soil than exists on the Atlantic seaboard, and France will be able to compete with U.S. in rice production. She will also be able to supply her West Indies possessions with lumber.
