United States--History--Revolution, 1775-1783; Jay, John, 1745-1829
Summary
Received the copies of Jay's pamphlet, and is happy to see the strength of
Jay's position in relation to Littlepage. Can understand the anxiety to which the
charges have put Jay, even though he be innocent, before the vindicating facts were
published. He continues to work for the federal government in the legislature but is
unsuccessful in obtaining money support for the national government.
