- Troup's letter to Committee of Arrangement deferred until Col. Livingston has accepted Troup's resignation. Will go to Jersey tomorrow; has not seen his sisters for 12 months. News from the city. Enemy distressed for fresh provisions, but is confident of conquest. Prisoners removed to Long Island. Enemy's attempts there to engage the local ladies in social events repulsed. It is generally believed that the enemy will attack Philadelphia by both sea and land.
