Summary
Thanks God for all blessings. Requests a decent funeral but without ostentation, instead giving $200 to a deserving widow or orphan of the town. Gives all manuscripts, books and papers other than such as respect his own or others' estate to his sons jointly. Manuscripts which should be destroyed are given to Peter A. Jay, to be destroyed at his discretion. Other books, plate, furniture, prints and pictures, etc. apportioned to all four children. New York City land and real estate apportioned between his two sons. Property in Bedford, Pound Ridge and North Salem given to William Jay, except one house and lot for his servant, Joseph Cuzno. To William, all livestock, farm equipment, etc. Is persuaded a provision for his daughters at Bedford is not necessary. The residue of real estate is to be divided amongst the four children. Gives his pew in Trinity Church, New York, to Peter A. Jay, his pew in St. Matthew's Church, Bedford, to William Jay. Annuity of $100 given to Mrs. Susan Symmes, Mary Lynn, Judith Watkins, and to Rev. Samuel Nichols as long as he is at St. Matthew's. Recommends all family servants to his children. Gives his employees, James Roe and Peter Blake, $200 each. All four children made executors of the will. Transmits his trusteeship of the portion of Governor. Livingston's estate given to his daughter, Judith, to Peter A. Jay.
