Summary
Since he last wrote on May 28th the Court has been moving from Aranjuez to Madrid and he has not been able to do much, except to remind Floridablanca and Del Campo of their assurances to listen to Jay's frequent applications on the behalf of individuals. They repeated their previous assurances to consider the previously unattended-to applications of Jay. Cabarrus is so busy at his bank that he has still not given Carmichael a full account of the transactions so Carmichael can send the report to Jay. Although the government here hoped to annihilate the "gremios" by setting up a bank, they have lately been obliged to borrow from the "gremios" again. Impatient to hear of the safe arrival of Jay and his wife in Paris.
