Summary
Reminds John Jay that it was some time after he delivered money to Messrs. Cabarrus and Aguirre that John Jay sent them instructions for the mode of payment of bills. Also reminds John Jay that he is not to blame for the mode in which Cabarrus and Aguirre keep their books and that John Jay should see Cabarrus for an explanation and not the clerks or Carmichael. In a postscript he notes that Giusti is ready to take any messages of Jay or his wife to Paris and that the French ambassador is sending a courier to the same city as a result of the news that the English fleet was reported near the Straits on the 11th of April.
