- Wants Peter to take care of the note John Jay owes to Mr. Freeman Clarkson promptly, as it is due May 1st. Left Major Lyons yesterday and on the way into town saw Alexander's horse, lame. There are around forty causes pending in New Haven; does not know how many will come to trial. Will be in Boston next and expects a letter there from Peter. Hopes that Peter's mother and aunt will leave New York and go visit his uncle Peter at Rye, for their health.
