- Sends letter by post, so it must of necessity be reserved. Has received no news from America, although the public good would profit were he kept better informed. Glad to hear Richard Morris appointed Chief Justice of New York, New York should not sleep over the Vermont issue. Don't forget Duer, who is a good man, and should be kept in an office in New York Commends to Benson's attention a Pennsylvania law for the gradual abolition of slavery. "Till America comes into this measure abolition her Prayers to Heaven for liberty will be impious--"
