Summary:
John Jay approves the resolutions respecting Vermont. A very extraordinary vote has just been passed. The proprietors of Indiana and Vandalia have claimed a right to a tract of country which is claimed by Virginia and have asked Congress to interpose. John Jay will not change his opinion on resigning the position of Chief Justice. Whether or not he will remain in Philadelphia depends on whether his brothers will take care of his father and his family.
