Summary:
If Lord Amherst's agent received instructions to redeem the land in America before the term of redemption expired, there could have been no difficulty in effecting this. If the term had expired, he could only ascertain the value of the land, inquire whether the purchaser would restore it to Lord Amherst, and communicate the information and his advice to his Lordship. There is no question as to the propriety of Van Schaack's conduct in this matter.
