- Summary
- Refers to letters to Franklin of 26 Jan., 28 Jan., 3 March, and 20 March, 1780. Cannot understand why Franklin has not replied to these letters. Is sure they have reached Paris. As Franklin has given him no instructions on sending the packets referred to in these letters will use his own judgment and send them to Joshua Johnson at Nantes for forwarding to Franklin. Has received note from d'Yranda concerning monies Grand has placed at his (John Jay's) disposal. Assumes this is done at Franklin's order.
