- Summary
- Assures John Jay that he will always act honestly in all their encounters. These are his own principles, and in following them he also follows the example of the King, his master. JayÆs delicacy in questioning whether he should communicate to the French Ambassador the Count de Montmorin the discussions from their last meeting accords well with de Florida BlancaÆs idea of John JayÆs character. Does not believe it necessary to keep the discussion a secret, although they may agree to some kind of reserve in future circumstances. In French.
