- Summary
- Has just learned from Mr. Gardoqui that the Spanish king will not accept any more American bills. The ones already accepted amount to 14,000 dollars. Wishes de Florida Blanca to tell him frankly whether the United States will receive any aid from Spain, and if so, what kind. The discussions between de Florida Blanca and John Jay about soldiersÆ clothing and supplies of money in America, as well as expressions of general friendship by Spain would seem to answer this question, but Mr. Gardoqui has been instructed to say nothing to John Jay.
