- A group of four letters from Peter Jay to his eldest daughter, Eve in Albany, 1770-1774: (30 June 1774) . Sending Mr. Munro's horse to James Van Cortlandt; her son is well; (15 April 1772) her health and her mother's health; will send fruit trees as he promised; teases her that "Pen ink & Papers is Scarce at Albany" as she has written so seldom; (8 February 1774) Her mother's health poor, thanks her for her congratulations on Frederick's marriage, "Embrace Peter for us and tell him that we heard with great pleasure Cousin Cortlandt's information of his behaving like a little Man, & not like a Child, and that we hope he is jmindfull to learn his book that he may grow up to be a wise Man"; (18 March 1774) Her mother is now much better; best wishes to her "Mr. Munro and yr. Children."
