- Summary
- They have just received his letters. Am so sorry to hear that his uncle has been ill but hopes he has recovered. They have moved but have not yet settled in to the new house. His aunt (Sarah Livingston Jay) has never looked better. His mother (Mrs. Henry Munro) is in New York but says nothing of the family nor how she came to be there. She wishes Peter to send her his picture. He believes the men who went up in the balloon did not do experiments as it was only 8900 feet from the ground. Are the English making similar experiments to Montgolfier's? Mrs. Ridley is much sicker and Sarah Livingston Jay thinks her beyond recovery.
