Summary
Judge Benson has told John Jay of reports in Albany that Peter Jay Munro solicited and was refused the office of Recorder. As Peter had indicated he would accept the job if appointed to it but would not apply, he should speak to Benson and obtain full information. Asks that Peter settle his bank book and bring it on his next visit. Also, Peter Jay Munro to John Jay, 6 April 1807 (draft), same as NNC-SC: 9394.
