- New York Supreme Court case of John Doe ex dem Philip Verplanck, et al., v. Ezekiel Griffin. "Notes for summing up" in Jay's hand. Case involves land situated in region of Bedford, New York. Argument for the defendant-adverse possession for an extended period. Also, that the land was granted subsequent to the agreement ceding Bedford township to New York, but before that agreement was approved by the King and the Duke of York. Until such approval was given, the land remained under the jurisdiction of Connecticut.
