- Summary
- Recommends the son of Sr. Francis Baring. Sorry and surprised at the suddenness of Jay's departure from London. Lame from attack of gout and still recovering. Mr. Baring will be able to inform Jay on the state of affairs in Europe. Has heard through his own son that Monsieur Rayneval is much consulted in Paris. Does not see any movement towards peace but rather the opposite. Folly of the war demonstrated by catastrophe at Quiberon.
