- Summary
- By mutual agreement between the United States and Britain, the sixth article of the treaty of amity is abolished excepting what relates to the execution of the seventh, the United States to pay a definite sum of money in three equal annual installments from the date of the exchange of the ratifications. This arrangement only underlines the difficulties with "another nation" and her lack of faith "in the performance of such engagements, as she chose to dictate."
