- Summary
- Not without reluctance, he must apprize Hoffman that his pecuniary embarrassments are incompatible with the attention and independence necessary for the execution of the duties of his office. The question as to whether an Attorney General so circumstanced should continue in office is to be examined. It will certainly be insisted, and he thinks it indispensable, that the Attorney General reside in future at the seat of government.
