- The writer states that he has learned from a reliable source in London that the whole force leaving for New York with Admiral Arbuthnot is made up of 2,800 men and that the squadron convoying the transport vessels consists of four ships of the line all of which are of 74 guns. A note at the end states that the Admiral, his fleet and his convoy were windbound in Torbay on the 14th of May 1779.
