Summary
Has always heard Colonel Robert H. Harrison spoken of with respect and commendation. His occupation in the army and John Jay's in Congress and abroad impeded much personal contact between them. The Colonel's worth and services are rendered unquestionable by the esteem and affection evinced in Washington's letters to him. The testimony by Lafayette and President Monroe, together with the letters of Washington, should exclude the necessity of further evidence to manifest the gratitude and tender regard for his children which Harrison deserved from his country.
