- Summary
- Can do nothing at moment to aid her friend, Miss Bainslow, in obtaining her release and return to England from France. (See Chalmers' letter of 11 August.) When the new American Minister arrives at Paris, will inform of the young lady's plight; until then, nothing can be done. Interested to learn that Mrs. Chalmers is "connected in Lord Stirling's family" as Mrs. Jay is Lady Stirling's niece. Will call upon Mrs. Chalmers at earliest opportunity.
