- Summary
- The scenes of the day tend to "disgust rather than amuse." Solid reform cannot be hoped for from either party at present; the Federalists have "pretentions to character," but are encumbered by petty interests and intrigue. They are forced to work with very weak instruments. It is hoped the complexion of the next Legislature will be altered much for the better.
