- Summary
- Is pleased to meet young Thomas Hancock. Thanks him for his comments upon the Jay treaty. The approval of the more virtuous men in regard to the treaty has sustained his spirits despite the clamor of the opposition. It was to be expected that the Antifederalists would create opposition for their partisan advantage, that debtors would seek to evade payment of their debts, and that the pro-French faction would be displeased.
