- Summary
- Austria has been driven to sue for a separate peace. Great Britain is to be attacked by Russia, Prussia and Sweden as well as France. Brockholst Livingston brought news of a rupture between Jay and the Council on Appointments. It is said that Varick will be replaced as mayor by Edward Livingston. By that time Varick presumes most of the Innkeeper's licenses will be issued; however, if he cannot give his office to a federal man, he would like to leave it to an honest one.
