- Major Lyon has not advanced much at the farm this year. Good work at the mill, delayed by bad weather. John was not at home; his absence meant accounts were not ready to be settled. Neither was the Major ready to settle. A Mr. Grant arrived from Jamaica and offers to pay the principal and interest due on bonds from Mr. Grant. Discussion and eventual settlement of this deal. Mr. Post claims account with him settled before Jay's departure; will not dispute him until obtain proceeds of the sales.
