- Summary
- Transmits a copy of "A Memoir of the French Protestants who settled at Oxford in Massachusetts, in 1686; with a Sketch of the entire history of the Protestants of France" from Rev. Dr. Holmes of Cambridge. It is interesting to see how many lives were sacrificed, less to religious opinions or bigotry than to the selfish views of the Roman Catholic clergy and the lazy monks. Families of worth and distinction are descended from the settlers of Oxford.
