- United States--History--Revolution, 1775-1783; Jay, John, 1745-1829
- Summary
- Has read his letter and the newspaper attentively. The publications need not excite anxiety since no facts can be substantiated which render his veracity or rectitude questionable. Agrees with his sentiments on Chief Justice Marshall. Credit is due to Otis for exposing the prevailing errors about the Hartford Convention. The memoirs Pickering proposes to write seem advisable. Was surprised to learn he was born in 1745, as was John Jay.
