- As John Jay's opinion upon the question of articles which have been condemned by British admiralty judges as contraband. Condemnations have included certain types of iron, generally used for constructing houses, which the British claim can be easily converted for ship fittings, and certain types of cheap cloth, used for slave's clothing, which the British claim may be easily used for sail cloth.
