- Summary
- Evacuation from Ticonderoga necessary as the men were new and untrained and communications nearly cut off by the siege of the enemy. Burgoyne returned to Ticonderoga. The Americans have left Fort George and hope to avoid being cut off by the Indians. The garrison left yesterday after setting fire to the buildings. The fortification to be made three miles below the ----- Creek which is higher and easier to fortify. General Burgoyne has summoned people to meet Governor. Skene at Castletown and there learn terms for holding property. Nonattenders threatened with death. General Schuyler has countered by declaring attenders to be traitors.
