- Summary
- By an act regulating roads and bridges passed by the Assembly of New Jersey roads and public highways are to be public and to regulated by the 12 surveyors of the adjacent counties through which they pass. The vote of eight is necessary to make a regulation. Jay sends a petition from New York protesting the construction of a certain road which passes through both New York and New Jersey and from which the surveyors have contrived to prevent the general public from traveling. The petition, therefore asks for an act preventing the construction of said road.
