- Summary
- He has no doubt of Livingston's ability to perform the office of Surrogate. The experience which he had in New Jersey in this regard qualifies him for the post. It would seem that Livingston has to a large degree given up the habit of drinking, and on the few occasions he has occasion to meet him, Livingston has given a very favorable disposition of himself. The trustees of his father's will have considered the possibility of surrendering the trust funds into his hands. Suggests Sarah Jay make inquiries of Susanna Livingston Symmes, and if this character of William Livingston is correct, that he should be given the office.
