It appears that Peter Munro has been of service to Maria; John Jay will get the details from Munro when he comes to Bedford. Approves Maria's discretion in omitting certain things from her letters. Mentions a certain person who is hostile to a friend but still friendly to Maria. Mentions distress in the family of S. Clarke. His sister married a farmer who died suddenly, leaving her with a number of children and straitened circumstances.
