Summary
Has visited Uncle Frederick. Although he has read Life of Cicero attentively, cannot point out acts of indiscretion; but his misfortunes were due to his vanity and irresolution. Same as NNC: 8359, Jay (M) - f.35, of which this appears to be a retained draft. Received letter of 12th, and has read the life of Cicero. Although he cannot point out particular acts of indiscretion to which Cicero's downfall may be attributed, he thinks the reasons for his downfall were vanity and irresolution.
