- Some of the military stores at Nantes can be salvaged. In connection with commercial arrangements with France, looks forward to getting a concession that all fish oils will be exempt from duties. Assembly of Notables really called to provide new revenues; to make this less distasteful, their grievance requests were solicited. When they wished an account of the expenditure of funds, the Comptroller suggested some of their number, including Lafayette, should be sent to the Bastille. Instead the King exiled Comptroller.
